Is there anything like the L1D in a two mode (on-off) out there? I have an Ultrafire whatever model it is with the 3W cree and 1 AA, and its just about perfect for my needs. but given the CCC quality, I'm sure it will crap out eventually...that and the regulation sucks. I just don't have the need or desire for multiple modes; well maybe high-low-off would be alright, but even at that, AFAIK Fenix doesn't offer anything in that configuration.

Fenix does offer a light that just has a high and a low; their L1T. Their L2T is also the same light, but with space for two AA batteries. IMO, I'd get the L2T unless I specifically was looking for a single AA light.

Cool, thanks for pointing that out to me, jamison! Those are exactly what I've been looking for; just not sure now whether to go for the 1 or 1 AA model. hmm....

I think that's a decision that just about everybody buying a fenix goes through. Should I buy the 2 cell or 1 cell version. The 2 cell lights will be brighter on high and have a longer runtime then their 1 cell counter parts, but at the coast of being larger. Personally, I think the two cell lights are the ones to go after. They're not that much bigger than the 2 cell lights and are still easily pocketed. Combine that with the new LSD AA's and you've got a great light. I know I love my L2D-CE. It's my EDC.

I'm of the opposite opinion. The 2 cell lights are fugly and cumbersome to pocket. I'm willing to go with slightly lower output (not really, since I can use li-ions) and runtime for increased ease of carry.

Would the 1AA spare body (https://www.fenix-store.com/product_info.php?products_id=97&osCsid=147c4164bada2b4822485a6447a21a4b) work to extend the L1T into a 2AA configuration?
Nope - That is a replacement battery tube, not an extension.
