I know, the low function is gone, but hey, low powered Lux V. How will the run time be?
L2 head on L1 body?

I think they are both dumb heads, with the electronics in the bodies, but since the L2 is a Lux V and the L1 a Lux III, with very different Vfs, I can't see the L1 body lighting up a L2 head.
I could be completely wrong, but it doesn't seem to me like it would work.

If you use an unprotected rechargeable (3.6V) like this http://www.lighthound.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=1367
in the L1, the L2 head will light up.
I can't comment on runtime.
Visually comparing ceiling bounce with the U2.
With CR123, somewhere in 12-16 lumen range.
With RCR123, somewhere in 50-60 lumen range.

But doesn't the electonics in the L1 body regulate how much juice is going to the Lux V (constant current, though only @ a certain voltage)
