Anybody know of a good fan that fits under a small laptop to keep it cool? Do they use AC power or USB port? Hopefully for less than $50. Thanks.

no, unfortunately I don't konw of any fan but I have the same problem of you with my laptop...it get quite warm after few minutes of use:candle:

I'm also interested in a suggestion:(
thanks!

I use the Vantec LapCool3 under my laptops. I have a dell xps and the wife has and Alienware area 51. They both get real hot. The Alienware will actually shut down at times due to heat. Since I bought the lapCool's I haven't had a problem. They are $12.99 on www.outpost.com (Fry's electronics web site). They run off of the USB port on your laptop.

I've got a couple of the Targus units as well, one with the 4 USB ports, & the other without. Both can run off the USB port, however if you need powered USB ports on the one that has them, then AC is needed.

If you have a laptop, you should have one of these!

i saw one running on AC power.

2 big fans and some thicker then usual HA type II black coating with a dragon motif.

no extra USB port...

sadly, i cannot remember the link...

Be sure to check the direction of airflow. My dell sucks air up into the bottom of the unit and exhausts it out the back. Most of the units I saw at Frys wanted to suck air downward into the laptop cooler and out the sides. This was in direct opposition to the normal flow that the dell notebook was trying to pump. I found one that spaced the notebook pc off of it a little and blew air UP into the bottom of the pc, thus ADDING to the flow of air already present, not fighting it.
