I have what looks like an old 6P. It says Laser Products Sure Fire Fountain Valley, CA on the tailcap. It had a Laser Products R60 bulb in it. It has the B65 2 batt extension on it. Now as far as I have been able to find out Laser Products is Sure Fire's old name. Anybody know how old this light is? The light seems ok and works with the new P60 bulb I put in it. Is it ok to stick the new Sure Fire bulbs in it? Even the charger says Laser Products. It seems to work great once I replaced the bulb. Just looking for some info. I paid $40 for it from a cop buddy of mine. Also should this light have a serial number on it? This one does not but my Z3 does. I thought all Sure Fire's had serial numbers.

You have a SureFire 6R, which is a Ni-Cd rechargeable SureFire. If you remove the B65 battery extension, you will convert the light to a standard 6P length and can use two CR123A cells and any lamp designed to run in the 6P (e.g., a P60, P61, or the various LED drop-ins).

Earlier SureFires from the Laser Product era such as yours did not come with serial numbers, perfectly normal

as has been typed:
6R, convertible to 6P
no serials at that times

be glad You have one of the old ones. That hex bezel of the newer ones is soooo ugly.

Well actually you guys might cringe but i took the bezel off my Z3 which is anti roll and put it on my 6R. I'm a cop and i can't have my flashlight go rolling if i drop it. Had that happen before on a streamlight. Thanks for all the info guys.
