Lathe help

Hey guys I changed the 3 pieces on my lathe chuck that holds the part while spinning,and now I can't get them in straight, one goes in faster than tje other and i tried for a hr now is there something broke in the inside or is there a trick on doing this ,??​

On my 3-jaw chuck, each of the 3 jaws are stamped with numbers 1,2 & 3 and they must go in the corresponding slot with the same markings in the chuck. Look for some type of markings.

Yeap, there is a sequence. Mess up the sequence and they won't line up. Try either 1,2,3 or 3,2,1
