LED nightlight on sale

Candle Power Forums

Help Support Candle Power:

Hey, thanks DBrier. I was just looking for these recently but didn't want to pay $20/ea. Just ordered 4; they'll make nice gifts for the upcoming holidays.

Got my nightlights yesterday. They are really fun. On lightwash, I think it hypmotized my cat.
They sent me two boxes, I have 8 instead of 4. I only got one order confirmation. Wonder if they charged my credit card for both orders? If they did, then I just got lot of Christmas shopping done. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

DBrier, very cool. Mine are en route. How much light do these put out? Are the leds visible behind the translucent shade? I hope they double ship me, too! By combining the colors, how many discreet colors does the Sprite have in it's repetoire?

Now I ordered 4 also. That seems the correct amout to order (but even one is shipped free). Now I have to figure out what the heck are these things.

Thanks for the link. I think I'm going to order... 4. It just seems like the best number to get. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grinser2.gif

I'm pretty sure the LightSprite has three LEDs. One red, one green, and one blue.
I have the LightSprite right here if you're interested.

I don't suppose it is a tri-color single led? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/naughty.gif

EDIT: I just went to order these and the black ones are out of stock. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif Hopefully they will be getting more in but some how I doubt it.

I'm 99.999% certain there are three discrete LEDs in the LightSprite. Let me take mine apart and see for sure...BRB...
OK, after removing the three screws, one of the screws fell in the rug /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/blush.gif but I found it pretty quickly. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif
There is a milky dome over the light source, so I shone a laser into one side and looked (as if checking the filament of a household light bulb), and there are indeed three seperate LEDs, not a single RGB LED.

Back together you go, and up on the shelf you go, Mr. LightSprite. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I broke the mold and got six - all in red, the only color case they had in stock. You can't beat the price and it includes shipping.

They put out a fair amount of light, about what you would expect for a nightlight. I don't know how many descrete colors you can get, since it varies color gradually.
You can't see the LED behind the cover, but sometimes as the color shift, you can see two seperate colors at the same time. You'll see what I am talking about.

We probably ran them out of black units. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif You think the shipping guys are confused. "We haven't sold any of these for a while, then we sell 100 in one week. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif "

I just noticed, there is free shipping now too. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/mad.gif
I had to pay for my shipping. The total shipped to my door was just under $28 for four. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif
The deal just keeps getting better. Hopefully when my credit card bill comes, I only got charged once.

I ordered 2 yesterday and was going to order more today, but now the black is "out of stock" and red will be "restocked soon".

Just got mine. These are very cool lights! They are well made and the front controls are nice. Besides the different effects, you can control the speed, too.

Interesting fact is that one of the effects is a solid "on" of all the leds for a combo that looks white. You can brighten and dim the white as you wish. I didn't think that the light would combine that way, not for white. Pretty cool.

DBrier, I do see what you mean. But I don't find it detracting at all, just part of the show. Maybe they'll put the other sauce products on sale too. Let me know if you see them! This was a very good deal.

Mine displays a kind of light greenish cyan color...they must have fixed this since I reviewed one. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazy.gif
I just now plugged mine in, and sure as {vulgar term for feces}, it shows a light green color in the bottom 2/3 of the window, and a light blue color in the top 1/3 of the window. The red and green LED dice are somewhat visible in this configuration; with the red being the more visible of the two. If CK has fixed this (so you get more of a white color in "dimmer" mode), I'll have to note that on my website and maybe even modify the rating I gave it. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/eek.gif

A red, blue and green led will combine to white(ish), just like in your TV.
It is an RGB nightlight. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

No need to change your review, mine looks the same, especially when in dim "white" mode.

the obvious question: can we mod it to make it as bright as the wallwasher (or brighter?)

maybe change a resistor and put multiple LED's in series? or parallel or WHATEVER WORKS!

It seems that adding additional LED's in parralel shoud add brightnesss. It works for LED flashlights.
