I just got my n cell nimh 500mah batts from www.battlepack.com and charged them.
When I measured the current, I found the .35 amp rated L1 emitters getting clobbered with 1.35 amps at only 3.9 volts!! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/ooo.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/icon15.gif
I then remeasured it with rad shack nimh 360s and found it still at .82 amps at 4.0 volts
Both my v2 turbos are doing the same thing with these batteries and appear to be undamaged at this point.
They stay comfortable to hold with the rad shack batts, but get hot with the battlepack batteries.
Any comments welcome. I'm confused now.

err ... if I were you I'd be very careful at overdriving those V2 Power Led Lensers. They are not too well build, actually they are Zweibrueder's first attempt at Luxeon lights, and heatsinking might be critical, not to speak of the dangers for the emitter itself with such a high current.
this should be a Lux1 and not a Lux3.

These were the best, and brightest out of 50 or so on the shelf last January.
They have all the hallmarks of an early reject lux 3 put in by accident.
I don't think a lux1 would have survived this far.
Anybody ever had a lux1 survive this much current?
