Are AW's 17500s on LightHound the new ones with the 4A +/- 0.5A protection circuit? I would like to get some to power an M3T LOLA and don't want to get them if I will have to double-click them.

I think the best advice is to call or email John @ lighthound - just to be sure.

Many months ago, I ordered some 14670's from him assuming they were the higher current threashold cells. They were not and he graciously accepted their return. He is great to deal with, and I felt bad for not asking first.

I emailed them yesterday, but I haven't gotten a reply yet. I figured someone here might answer my question faster.

You won't have to double-click with the MN15. I bought my 17500's from lighthound quite a bit ago, and they powered up the MN15 just fine. When the cells were within their first five minutes of burn time, they would power up the MN16 on one click...after that it would take a double-tap.

You could always add a cell-extender to run 2x17670's and power up the MN16 one-click everytime for ~30min  If you don't want the added length, grab yourself some 17500's and start playing :naughty:

I think I am gonna run the 17500s with the MN15 in the stock M3T body, and then get a Leef 2x18650 body to run the MN16 on. Strauss, how's that MN16 working out for you? Last time I talked to Zack he said you were disappointed with the life of it, he said that the bulb was burning real yellow and there was a black coating on the envelope of the bulb.

I think it may have been self-inflicted failure. I dropped my light pretty hard on the concrete, and that fall may have shortened the life of the MN16 :thumbsdow I have another bulb on it's way, and I will see how this one holds up. I will reserve my judgement until I put the second bulb threw it's paces. It could have just been a "bad" bulb also...it happens now and then :ohgeez:
