Lithium AA confusion

I'm a little confused by the various categories of Lithium AA cells and was hoping someone could explain.

Energizer, for example, makes the e2, which it classifies as an X91 "alkaline" cell. It also makes the L91 cell (blue), which it classifies as Lithium. I always assumed the e2 was a lithium cell but not according to the Energizer website. To make matters even more confusing, a lot of online stores describe the e2 as an L91 cell, which apparently it is not.

Anyone care to clear this up for me?!

Also, what is the best source for L91 cells online, and are they generally straight swaps for alkalines in something like a Fenix L1?

Thanks.

i know one thing E2 is just brand Hype, sorta the second rendition of the energysers (alk or lith), other than that it means nothing. sorta XP SP2, its still XP :) if you want a LITHIUM e2 makes sure it says lithium

L91 is supposed to be a lithium, but that doesnt mean someone wont put L91 in a TITLE or description somewhere to try and get your attention, to sell you some other item its compatable with. its called "keyword spamming" on e-bay its actually against the rules. on the other hand when searching for something like a AG13 compatable silver oxide thier "keyword spamming" can prove to be usefull, if your looking for that size or compatability of item in a different chemistry. soo what can ya do.

Most single cell AA LED flashlights will be very happy with ni-mhy or lithium , but NOT 3.6v type Li-ion batteries, most will be a bit brighter for longer too.

When seeking a battery anywhere, worry more about the specs, and the chemistry Alkaline or lithium, preferably the actual ones :) not just the ones on the adds.
