Well, folks ...

I have such good stuff planned for this light during the course of the month and I'm sure I'll get to do most of it. I'll update this post along the way.

However, here's what I've been reviewing over the last week or two.

BELT CARRY:

Since I'm looking at real world use, let's look at carrying the light on a belt.

Stock Nylon Holster:
I've carried it for the last week and it's comfortable to carry despite its bulk ( I EDC the L2D-Q2 in a Kydex holster). I've used the light for various everyday tasks

I'm not a fan of the nylon holster which comes with the light. Unsecuring the velcro flap takes too much time to bring the light into action. Also, the holster's belt loop is too large and allows the light to slide between the pant loops rather than stay in one place. It also cants forward / backward because of the large loop as well.

The lack of a standardized bezel & tailcap diameter limits the T1's potential use with some popular/current flashlight holders on the market. I looked at the following holsters to date that The T1 might be compatible with:

Surefire V70 holster: part# V70
... Bezel Down: The T1's bezel is too large and doesn't fit.
... Bezel Up: The T1's belt clip gets in the way of securing it in the holder. I would suspect that the enlarged tailcap will not securely seat into the bottom of the V70 as well.

Night-Ops Flashlight Mod-U-Lok Holder: part# 75GH00BK
... Bezel Down: The T1's bezel is too large and doesn't fit. Almost, but not quite.
... Bezel Up: The T1 body snaps into place, but there is a lot of up/down play

WEAPON MOUNTED:

Springfield XD flashlight holder for 1" lights: Product ID: 57996
One of the tests I had planned was to weapon mount the light and fire several hundered rounds of +P ammo in 2 calibers to ensure that the light didn't fail. I have the Springfield XD flashlight holder for 1" lights which mounts to the rails on my P2000 (.40SW) and XD9 (9mm).

This holder has worked fine with my G2 and 6P lights without a hitch. Just slip in the light and tighten down the locking band around the body. However, the ridges on the T1's tailcap don't allow the light to fit into the holder. I would also suspect that the tri-point tailguard won't allow the light to function with this holder as well.

In terms of light output, I like it very much! I'll be getting an assortment of folks to handle/use the light at our next Match on January 14th, plus I have a few other folks to show the light to. I'll post their comments as well.
