Looking for 3D mag upgrade?

My friend just bought a 3D mag led and was quite let down to see my Fenix P3D was brighter...

Needless to say he wants to upgrade. I've researched a bit so is it pretty much agreed that the Malkoff P4 drop-in is pretty much the best upgrade for that price range?

i will point out, if you can settle for regular NIMHs, http://www.batteryjunction.com lets you buy them one at a time, and you get a discount the more you buy. with the LSD ones they only come two at a time, so its a pain in the *** to get 3.
