i'm looking for a aaa size light, cheap, bright, that can fit on my keychain. i want to get some of those 14400 or whatever the 3.6 volt version of the aaa battery is.

anyone know of kits that come with charger and everything.
i would consider aa size/14500 also. all running single cell. i already have fenix 2aa

The fenix LOD multilevel cree..is a great light..check out LIGHTHOUND for a nice price(no shipping fee) and he has the 10440 3.7 v aaa and nano chargers at low prices..excellant to do business with..

The only AAA Cree/SSC lights I know of are Fenix L0D-CE, Huntlight, Liteflux and Peak Baltic SSC.
From the reviews it seems Huntlight is increasing runtime rather than brightness. Plus multiple reports of shredding o-rings.

Don't know how to buy a Liteflux LF2 (i don't have paypal). They seem to have a Cree (longer) and SSC (shorter) versions. The UI/levels is user programmable. Comes with a diffuser for candle mode.

Peak just introduced the Baltic with SSC LED. This is a single stage light but you can choose one of 4 power levels at time of purchase, many body types (keychain, momentary: HAIII, brass, SS, Titanium) and sells a 2AAA body tube. Unfortunately Peak also upgraded their website and it is now incompatible with my browser.

L0D-CE at lighthound

The batteries and charger are at the bottom of the page. If you are thinking of both 10440 &14500 get the Ultrafire charger, The nanos only charge one battery size.

2x14500 =8.4V which will definately fry something. You need a 1AA battery tube. That way you get 2AA performance in a 1AA length light.
I do not see a L1D-CE body sold seperately at lighthound. Fenix store got them.

It's a nice charger but, as mentioned elsewhere, doesn't cut off at 4.2V as it should. I've let it charge until the green was fairly solid and the battery voltage cutoff seems to be about 4.3 or slightly higher, which isn't great for the battery, but may or may not be hard on the led. I monitor my charger carefully because of this. I'd try another charger if you want to leave the charger unattended for long periods, e.g. the one sold by Lighthound might do the job--not certain, though.

BTW, I agree completely on the LOD-CE--excellent AAA light, with NiMH or with 10440 battery.

I like liteflux lf2 , runs on normal AAA and 3.7 lithiums. It's comes without the battery and charger but member AW sells the combo in the dealers forum.

If you prefer AA I'll wait to see reviews of dealextreme dexlight
