Hey guys,
I'm looking for a headlamp for hunting. I'd like high output for walking down the trails and seeing a good distance as I go out super early in the morning. I'd like a head lamp because carrying a bow and a flashlight gets old quick. I'd like it to have a red light but i guess if that gets me out of the high output category it's not a must, but it's a nice feature to have. That's basically it. Maybe 30 yard or greater throw, the flood doesn't have to be more than 20 feet with spill. Rechargeable. Would be nice if it was a right angle removeable light as i could clip it to other things. Price under $150. Hopefully that's not too vague.

I was looking at that. As well, I was wondering if zebralight quality companies were out there? Zebralight sells a 1668 or something like that lumen light but was curious if there was better.

Other question is would a flood at 1600 lumens provide enough throw for my requirements? I don’t need to spot an owl in a tree but need to see rocks, roots, branches, etc

Zebralight makes a quality headlamp and 1668 lumens is more than enough light output to get you out to your hunting stand early in the morning. Heck even 800-900 lumens should be more than enough to easily light up 30 yards in front of you.
The one thing with the Zebralight headlamps is that they aren't removable and don't have a red LED if those things matter to you.

Yep, 1600 lumens is more than enough light to illuminate the path in front of you and then some.

Here are some other options that would fit the bill for you.

A lighter weight option that still has a red LED is this one:

Otherwise check out your options on Battery Junction: https://www.batteryjunction.com/flashlight-head.html

Good luck with your decision.
