Looking to replace a Fenix PD35Tac I lost a couple months ago.

Currently running a Wurkkos FC12, and I love the User Interface on this light. Problem is I don't trust the durability.

Light must run on 18650.

Anybody got any suggestions?



1) How would you prefer to purchase the light?

Location does not matter.

I want this is run on 18650. I have a ton, and am not ready to start building inventory in another size battery at the moment

I want a turbo in the 1000-1500 range

I have not interest / never use blinky modes. Don't mind if it has it as long as it does not get in the way.

The Convoy S21A is worth taking a look at. Yes, it is designed for the 21700 but it will run 18650 Protected and Unprotected cells as well. It is a very versatile light with lots of programming options. There are several LED offerings. It is not rated for IP but I have taken that light and several of the Convoy Flashlights with the rubber tail switches and dropped them into my hot tub for over 2 hours without any leakage. I have bought hundreds of dollars of lights from Simon at The Convoy Flashlight store without any issues at all. I did durability testing of some of his other lights and have been very impressed.


I really like the 519A LED in 4000k myself.

I have an 'original' PD35 TAC (which had an actual TAC mode which can effectively render the side switch harmless when desired). It's had an easy life inside, but I still essentially like it.

The lights I have which have largely replaced it have all come from Streamlight. If great engineering, reliability, widely available, long term support / parts if you should need it, etc. - and at a sane price are a priority, I think you will find your perfect solution from that company - most likely in the Protac line. Also consider the simple flexibility of the Ten-Tap feature to allow you to tailor it to your preferences without using / carrying around a flow chart. There are several lights in that line that you might appreciate, so I won't try to narrow it down for you. If you want things like the Ten-Tap flexibility, Borofloat lenses, real FL1 2-meter impact ratings, etc., you'll find such things in some of the ProTacs as well, and they offer such things which are very difficult to find from other manufacturers - especially if you want most of that in one light.
