I cannot currently drive, but I will be getting my permit within the next couple of months, and my cars headlights leave something to be desired when driving at night. At this point, I am looking for some reasonable quality/price driving lights that will allow me to see things clearly ~150-250 feet in front of the vehicle. (Please note, these will be used separately from the high-beams, and only on back country roads, to spot obstacles further out than my current headlamps project.)
I have a '91 Isuzu Rodeo (SUV), if you're interested, with (what I consider to be) an over sized alternator (80 amp, no power windows, doors, only a radio and some interior lights), and am also interested in a diagram, if any one could show me, or pictures of how others have wired up similar lights.
I have seen the Vision X LED off road lights, and while cool, they are definitely out of my price range.
Could any one suggest units that they have had personal experience with?
Thanks.

Lots and lots of options, even if you disregard the (large amount of) junk on the market. Tough to narrow-in on what'll work best for you without knowing more about what size/shape limitations and preferences you have, where/how you plan to mount them, what your budget is, etc. You might want to take a look at this thread, too, for some lamp-selection basics.
