I was wonder what your suggestions are for a small pocket size light. I am looking for the brightest single or double AAA light. If there is a single AA light that is brighter then I would go with that also. But I think the double AA lights would be to big. Price range is about $50 but I would go a little more for size (smaller is better) and brightness. Any suggestions would be very helpful.

Hard to find a 2AAA light. River Rock has one, but it's the wrong emitter.

Yeah, there have probably been a few dozen threads of folks looking for a nice, quality, decently bright 2xAAA light since I've been here. The Mag 2xAAA host is so popular among nurses and medical folks that it's a shame someone hasn't come up with a better solution for them. You can put an SMJLED in one of them, but you'll need to drill out your own reflector. And I think some folks have said that Lambda's Solitaire module works on 2 cells. These are both more along the lines of a 'moderate boost in brightness, GREAT boost in runtime' type solutions.

The River Rock 2xAAA light at Target for $10 (the silver ones are clearanced at only $2.50 if your local stores happen to have them) are brighter than a 2xAAA or 2xAA Minimag with the stock bulb, but are quite blue. Still worth a look for such a low price. It would be nice if someone could mod these lights with an SSC or Cree LED at around 150-200mA and get a decent floody beam.

I do feel that since the market is severely lacking in 2xAAA lights, yet is flooded with 1xAA lights that perhaps that is the direction in which to look. The L1D, Rexlight, various Jetbeams... lots of choices.
