I was so pumped after reading about their new JET-1 MK.II I.B.S. Like many of you, regulation and good circuitry is important to me. Especially with the kind of money some of us put down for these bad boys. But then I read this:

http://www.lightreviews.info/jetbeam_jet-1_mk_ibs/review.html

It basically tells me that this particular model is having circuit issues in lower modes. :mecry:I guess it good still be a bad sample. :(

That's sad to hear that there are issues. I really like my Nitecore DI that takes a 14500 and was really looking forward to a light that took a 14500 and was 200+ lumens. Other than being named Irritable Bowel Syndrom I thought this light would be it. I'll wait to hear what the CPF members have to say about it once they start receiving them.

Hitthespot, I will be doing the same. Also, one thing that worries me is the tint the reviewer found. It sure doesn't seem WC.

Seems this light is built for use with 14500 which is OK for me. The ability to use standard AA's seems to be designed for use as a backup in case 14500's are out of charge or other situation.

Well looks like we're going to have to wait for more feedback from users who've bought the new range of JetBeams. I always like to get more than one opinion.

I wish Jetbeam would sort out these issues because they making pretty cool looking lights and I'd like to pick up some of these newer models, but not until I know they have worked out the bugs.

You didn't notice that the Jet-I Pro had the same problem? You think they just haven't had time to fix it since then?

Yeah, I was aware of that, Stereodude. I was referring my comment to the ever so slight possibility that the reviewed I.B.S was an anomaly...:shrugs

+1.

I picked up the Jet II and Jet-1 MkII.R and the runtimes and output are disappointing:scowl:, which is unfortunate since the overall quality of the construction of the lights is superb. :duh2: The Jet II even has beefier 'square' (for lack of a better word) threads that look like it could take a beating and the included diffuser tip is also great.

I'm hoping they sort out whatever issues they have with the drivers...

The review is disappointing. The only ray of hope is that the light is an ES(Engineering Sample), but at this late date I don't really think it's going to ship with a different driver(you can always hope). I like the way the new lights look and the UI sounds great. I'd like to get 1 or 2 of them, but they have to get the driver straightened out first.

On the review site, when you compare the brightness to a P3D Q5 on 16340s, it's pretty close.

Thier JetI IBS on max is rouhgly the same as a T1 on high? now thats something almost un believeable...
