The KL-1 was specifically designed for 6-volts, however it does work nicely with the E1 too. The advantage of the E2E is that you have multiple confurations with the light. You have the LED option using the KL-1. You also have one of the best incandesents for it's size, with both the MN02 and MN03 lamp options.

I thought about the 2AA, but then realised with the 6P, G2, E1HA, InovaX5 and now the ARC LS, I used more 123 bateries than anything else.

The theory is that the Inova and ARC LS will eat the batteries left over by the above. [And the E2e that I'm waiting for The Prince to send me]

I don't think the Inova will see many of them...

I decided to mate it with my E1 instead of E2 despite the shortness in runtime. The reason being is that there are times when I would prefer the incandescent E2 LA over the KL1 but can't think of any circumstances in which I would prefer the stock E1 LA over the KL1

I do like my Arc LS as well and the price was right for this deal but too many uncertainties these days with the LS. Although I'm not real thrilled with the violet tint of the LED, the KL1 physically was perfect right out of the box.

Just rec'd my Second, ordered Monday.

Head has a green circuit board, gold button on the + end. Off-axis beam, appropriate as a second.

Head does not come off the barrel -- that right? I tried 'til my joints started popping, but it'd take a pipe wrench to budge. With only the 123 battery pack, I don't need to remove it.

Body and base anodizing appropriate to be second-grade, minor gaps in finish and wear marks.

Base inside has the raised ring around center dimple. Works fine with a new Duracell 123.

Beam color blue to purple (white paper and cloth fluoresce in it); brightness and beam smoothness are midway between the Infinity government AAA and my early BadBoy 2xAAA; no complaints.

I just got the two $50 seconds I ordered Wednesday (after Peter said "These SLS are the best SLS we have made to date"). I have to agree with him -these are the best. As sometimes the case I cannot see why they are seconds other then they have the older rev1 body. One is brighter then the other but neither have that green tint that we all know and love. I do not use the 123 case, so I asked for and received the 2AA case - they work perfectly with the heads and show no signs of being seconds.
