Lux3 TWAJ -> P4 U3SVNH or K2 TTFC UW0E?

I've decided to upgrade my original-spec Raw NS (2006 vintage) which is currently running a Luxeon III (TWAJ bin) off a 250mAH lithium ion rechargeable. By my (unscientific) eye, it's probably making 40-50 lumens.

I'm pretty sure that the light is more-or-less direct drive on high, although it might have a 1 ohm SMD resistor in place, I can't swear to it. The reflector, for what it's worth, is a MCR16.

The two options I've seen for this mod are the SSC P4 and the Luxeon K2 (nobody seems to have upgraded a non-cree RawNS with a cree, so maybe this would require more than just an emitter swap?) so I'd love some help picking between:
SSC P4 U3SVNH
Lux K2 TTFC UW0E

I'm not entirely sure what the pros/cons of each one are, but ideally I'd like to keep things simple and get the most out-the-front lumens. I did try reading the datasheets, but it seems like Seoul and Luxeon are rating their LEDs at different current levels?

Hi, I am more familiar with the Luxeon line of LEDs, so naturally I would recommend the K2. It is perhaps the most robust LED ever made in terms of its ability to withstand abuse vs its rating.

I think of it as "The Pick Up Truck of LEDs".

You are right that the Vf of the K2 is rated at a higer test current than most other LEDs, possibly a flaw in the marketing of that product.

The Lux IIIs are fine, just a bit older design and don't have as much headroom for abuse.

Typically reflectors that work well with Luxeon LED's will work well with Seoul P4's as well.
