Luxeon news?

So whats the deal, weren't the folks at lumileds supposed to annouce the release of their new uber bright LED's or something to that affect, last week or something like that? Did i miss something?

Lumileds has never said a date. They just said "Q1". Someone posted a "heard from a friend" type thing about an announcement being last week. Best not to get your hopes up on rumors. We're still in Q1.

I think it's more like the Q bin XR-Es - we know they're available (I see no reason to distrust the comments), but it's totally impossible to get hold of them. It's possible they're not really mass-producing yet (or if they are that the yields are poor) though.
