I have a Surefire M4 that I bought on CPF. I think it's possibly 2 years old. I looked at the SF website and it says the current windows are Pyrex. When I tap on mine though it sure sounds like plastic.

The reason for concern is that I'm modding it to run a LF HO-M6R on 3 x 18650s and want to make sure I don't ruin anything. Is it possible that I have a plastic lens? Do I need to worry.

Thanks in advance,
Dan

It is possible that you have one with a lexan(?) window. If there is NO black plastic or crenalated bezel retaining ring, then you probably have that version.
It is also older than 2 years if it has the plastic window. I had one once but sold it.

I'd say use it and if the window melts, call Surefire and they will replace it under the warranty....just don't let them know you are running NON-SF bulbs and batteries or it will be VOID.
