Am considering the idea of having it done to suite three batteries instead of the normal six, with an M3 type head mounted,
is there someone who would machine a very plain featured short M6 type body? interested to know what it may cost.....

You mean like this, but with a KT4 head?

Welcome to CPF!

Actually, I think you probably mean something more like this. It is an M3 head with BigLeef modules (single 'C' cell body, tailcap and neck).

I haven't thought about which bulb you might be able to run in it, though. With only a single Li-Ion cell, it wouldn't be very powerful.

So you want a Surefire M3 head attached to a custom body where the 3 CR123A's sit side by side making it wider in diameter but shorter in length instead of having the CR123A's in a line like the stock Surefire M3?

1WRX7 and myself have been discussing such a body for a while now. After using the M111D as a handheld light, the thought of a "Stubby M3" would be cool. I actually have been trying to find an MB10 battery carrier so that I have all the parts to make one. If I'm able to go further with this project I'll update this thread.

What I really meant was as Dr Jeckell mentions,.... 3x CR123As' in a radial pattern.... however DM51, what you have there is some very interesting geometry,
Its what I consider Cute n' CooL creativity!... .always glad to see what rambles in creative minds.
My general idea is to have like an M3 head with 7 reflectors, for about 500-700 lumen, ideally with boost mode of about 1300-1500 lumen (would only want that "high" for about 1 minute at most) ...thing is, I dont know enough about electronics&batteries to know whats possible, so I could be a little niavely over ambitious!.... I could live with a "high" of 1100-1200 lumen without much problem.
