I just got a full power (235 lumens) Malkoff M60F and it is awesome!

I have been using standard M60's for a while which are fantastic in their own right but the M60F lights up the whole room without a big bright spot. For indoor use I think the M60F is the way to go.

This is good to hear, I nabbed a M60LF (140 lumens) on the MP recently, I think it will be perfect for walking with, I only wish I had a chance to get a warm version

Yeah, i have only seen two M60F's, and it was a M60WLF... and an M60W MC-E

The MC-E was absolutely awesome and would floodlight a decent area in front, and the warm colour made it great for what I was using it for, we were chasing frogs in Fiji on manicured lawns... Fantastic.

The WLF was also beautiful, but wouldn't have put down money for one of my own after seeing the MC-E. I guess at the time I was after power over flood

They make a great shotgun/weapon light too.... flooding a room with light and no hotspot!

I have M60FL and it's really great for close distances and indoors. But, I am not sure I agree with your descriptions here. It's actually the hotspot you appreciate because it's VERY large! :D

I'm curious, how does the beam of an M60F compare to an M61?

I would describe it something like this:

Compared to M61 beam: enlarge the hotspot to ~3 times wider. The edge of hotspot is very soft and outside the very wide hotspot you have a spill which gradually diminishes to the sides.

The hotspot of M60F is not as bright as the hotspot of M61, but brighter than the spill of M61. The spill of M60F is dimmer than the spill of M61 but wider (as well as with M60 the outer part of the spill you will hardly notice unless you use it in darkness).

I Apologize of my unperfect english...

Regards, Patric

I haven't seen the M60F.

I do however have the M61. There is a noticeable hotspot, it is much bigger than one you'd get from the SF E2DL. There is a significant amount of spill.

I have the FM34 diffuser and it is almost useless with the M61. It merely softens the light somewhat.

I went into our bathroom (the only room in the house without windows) to test the M60F and it was just like having the light fixtures on. In fact, I instinctively reached for the wall switch to turn off the lights when I remembered that it was the flashlight that was lighting up the room (duh!). Very impressive. (The bathroom is about 80 sq. ft.)

Yeah... good way of putting it! Big fat hotspot with very soft edges... a great room illuminator indeed. Sucks for anything distant, but throwers suck for room illumination too. ;) Gotta have the right tool for the job at hand!

For those with interest in room sweepers or shotgun lights I'll mention this, I've got lights on two shotguns, both Fivemega 6P bodies with Surefire Z59 fwd clicky tailcaps. One has a M60F lamp assembly in it and the other has one of Gene's P7 lamp assemblies. They're both great room sweepers, of course, and perfect on a HD shotgun.

There is another great shotgun light and that's the Quark 123x2 Tactical with the neutral XP-G emitter, which is very floody and quite bright - an excellent room sweeper lamp.

A short time ago I had some different lights on the guns, as shown here: The E2 has a Veleno LED tower in it. Also a floody light. The 3P had a M30 in it, which wasn't as good as a room sweeper/weapon light. Both of these lights have been re-purposed since I made this image.

Thanks! You are right. Nice set up! :)

Guilty...the flood of it does make it seem like the lights are on. And "WOW" were my initial impressions as well. Glad ya like it so much! Now ya just need an M60LF (they're on sale now on Gene's site), cause sometimes the M60/M60F is TOO bright. My M60F is on a 6Z as a defense light, and I use the M60LF as more of a general purpose (Walking/EDC) drop-in.

I used to think the L4 was a "wall of light." Until I bought an M60F, that is. You can work to try to refine the description, but "broad" (as in "room filling") and "[very] bright" leap to mind.
