An Everled is quite simple, just replace the bulb with the Everled. You get brighter whiter 1W led light that won't dim for over 24 hours! Same beam for the most part as the original Mag. The Everled also has quite sturdy construction; it may outlast it's host!
The easiest mod for a 2D mag is to shorten the spring in the tailcap so that it will sit in the base of the cap instead of the collar around the lip. Once that's done you can then use 3 "C" cells with some sort of pipe as a sleeve to hold them in place (I use PVC pipe available from the local hardware store).
With this mod you can go with a brighter (3 cell) bulb. The same is possible with a 3D Mag, taking it to 4C.
Another option is to buy some D to 123 or D to AA adapters from www.elektrolumens.com and use either CR123 or AA batteries and a much higher voltage bulb. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif
You're welcome Luca. A 2D mag converted to 3C is an excellent host for an EverLed, there's no wasted space in the tailcap holding an unnecessary spare bulb!
