I started using regular eneloops in my first gen 2 cell and at first kept thinking I had forgotten to put batteries in it. I have one with 5000 mAh Imedion batteries in it and it's like picking up a lead weight in comparison. I set it side by side another 2 cell with a pair of eneloops for 2 years and the Imedion powered one was dead when I went to use it while the eneloop'd one fired right up. So if you use Imedions but store the light in a glove box etc keep tabs on how much self discharge has occured.

I was hoping to see an updated version of the 3 cell but so far no go. It's really a nice light. If the ML50 isn't too big to carry the 3 cell ML25 is a treat with it's ML25 beam in a classic 2C length package.

That's why I run mostly 18650's and 21700's in the 2 and 3 cell Mags, much lighter weight, often longer run times (particularly with 21700's) and you only have one cell to charge. The Soshine NiMH C's are pretty good, but they won't hold a charge like Eneloops.

A updated 3 cell ML25 would be great, I suppose Mag will do it at some point but it might take awhile, same thing with a dual mode 3D LED Maglite.

The ML25's are unbelievably size efficient compared to the old incan C cell Mags, the ML50's are not bad either, but there's no beating the ML25's.

So tell me xx, what do you really think of the ML25? :poke:

Just foolin' bro. Back in the year they came out (2016) I voted it flashlight of the year although my vote was drowned out by all the "maglite sucks" chorus.

Actually, I thought they were just a budget LED Mag for the general public to replace their old incan lights without costing too much when they first came out. When I got one, I realized the subtle genius of the design.

My ML25LT 3cell with 2x protected 18650 3400mAh (8.4V) runtime were 10 hrs without notable dimming.

10 hours? Nice.

I know the 2 cell won't take it. It lasted a few seconds when I tried a pair of LifePo4 18500's (about 6.4 volts) in one.
Hey, spare parts right?

Single 18650/21700 Li-ions work real well in my 192 lumen 2 mode ML25 and ML50LX 2C cell lights - so far no spare parts generated.

That's pretty good, I'm surprised 8.4V didn't blow the LED.

It did run pretty well in serial 8.4V ~20 times (~200hrs) without problems.

Until one day........ learn my lesson.:ohgeez: I used multi-meter to check the tail-cap current of it.
The circuit/driver was fired instantly! :poof:

Yeah, I got spare parts for my mod too.

The led of ML25LT (XPE2) transferred to old miniMag Pro+ (XPG 1gen)

The ML25LT 3 cell host used as 2x 18650 Low, Mid, High(1.2A)6hrs with nichia 219b right now.
