MAG85 BATTERY OPTIONS

You spent good money on an FM adapter, boro lens, FM SS socket, reflector, 1185, etc... You have the means of a great 1185!!!!

Don't ruin the whole thing by going cheap on cells now :)

Get some Sanyo eneloops!

They perform very well at this load range, and have the advantage of being low-self-discharge. They also tend to be very closely matched n capacity and resistance from the factory which is perfect for pack applications.

thanks for advise,

ive just ordered a few packs of eneloops:thumbsup:

i really do'nt have a clue when it comes to electronics:confused:

when charging do you put the smart chargers red ( positive ) in the top of the 9AA holder & were do you put the black ( negetive )?

FM is supplying the jack do i have to solder that on or does it just connect?

i think instead of making a blunder i will just take out the batts and charge them, its the safest way for me!

Sir, I would respectfully suggest that if you cannot answer that question for yourself that you should not be playing with such dangerous equipment. These lights, battery packs, and chargers are fire hazards-- and if you don't understand what you are dealing with they are dangerous.

Good luck...

well i have a mag623 and i use a smart charger with the magnets to charge lux's 14.4v batt packs and had no problem!!!

i have not seen this setup in person, maybe i will understand it when i recive it.

thanks for your concerns!

It'll make more sense when you see it. You shouldn't have to solder anything. Just rig up (strip wire, wire nut together, or just twist it up by hand and insulate it well) an appropriate NIMH pack charger to the wires of the plug that is included. The center pin is positive and the outside is negative (IIRC). You can double check everything with a multi-meter before hooking up to the charger.
