hi, I know that this question may be easy but I'd like to know which is the best battery set up for a WA1185.
actually I have a mag85 (with WA1185 in a FM bi-pin socket and FM battery holder (3D>9AA)) driven by 9 energizer 2500 (made in japan), I know that energizer2500 aren't the best batteries so I'm looking for something else (Titanium or AW C li-ion to improve power and if possible runtime) but I don't know which are the differences between this two types of set up:ohgeez:

thanks
Filippo

I think you will find that if you start using AWs C-LiIons in 2 and 3C bodies you will develop a preference for the ergonomics and ease of handling of those lights compared to AAs in D bodies. The 3C LiIon Mag 85 is a very potent light for its heft though I use 2C 11s more often.

Nothing wrong with the Titaniukm 1800s- I've got a couple dozen and use them in FM or modamag holders in 2 and 3D bodies to run some of the usual incans for those voltages.

Not to mention that AWs soft starter with multiple output slection (and ability to extend battery life) is now available for C bodies. I've got a couple and they are nicely done.

FM has made some lights in both 2 and 3C that can be recharged without even opening the light- just plug into the body.

5C and 6Cs are already discontinued by MagLite and the 4Cs will no doubt be next so if for some reason you want to buy Cs at sizes over 3, now is the time. We need more extensions made for Cs by someone here.

thanks for the reply:twothumbs

you are right, the C size mags are easy to handle but I'm not looking for a small light (mag 3D size is perfect for me...I don't use it for work).
so I decided to keep my mag 3D and use Titanium or C li-ion (at the first I was thinking that li-ion are the best batts. but now I know that T.1800 are very good at high discharge and I don't need more than 30mins of runtime)

I have add some other infos...are li-ion still the best set-up?
I'd like to get more lumen as possible...:D
thanks
