Mag85 parts/order questions

Greetings all,

This is all new to me so a few questions please. My plan is to order most of the parts for a Mag85 build from Fivemega. Does anyone know if the stock bulb post will survive the heat from the combo of a FM stainless bulb adapter/WA1185? Are there any tricks to bulb height/focus? What is the best battery charger and are there any good ways to mount a charge jack on the body or in the cap. Finally, if I order from FM and paypal him, how will he know my ship to address? The body of work on this forum is amazing. Thanks to any who reply.

(I guess I could warn you as well: "It's too late for us. Save yourself and run!")

The FM adapter is designed to work with the stock switch, no heat issue there. If you use a cammed reflector, focus is the same as a stock Maglight. For an uncammed reflector, just install the head until focus is achived - it's designed to ensure the head is on fully and with tight focus. Paypal will provide FM with your Paypal shipping address. Although there are custom Mags around with built in jacks, I'm not aware of any Mag85's with them. Check out the 'Flashlight Electronics - Batteries Included' section for charger info. There are many to select from.

Northern Lights puts a charging jack in the body of his lights to allow for series recharging of A123's.

Here is a good example of his excellent work, which shows the custom made charging jack assembly below the switch and the hole he puts in the body of the light.
