Mag85 taking WAY TOO LONG charging?

I have a Mag85 with a Fivemega battery holder. My batteries and charger were getting pretty old, so I just recently bought more batteries and a new smartcharger.

Batterys are Titanium Powermax 1800's

Smart Charger is this one:

The problem is that it seems to take WAY TOO LONG to charge after I use it a little bit....can somebody tell me if this is abnormal? I charged it up today until the smartcharger had a green light (fully charged), and went outside and used it for about 3 minutes. Then put it back on the charger and it took 1 1/2 hours to recharge!!! Last night I used it long enough for it to start dimming, then put it on the charger and it took about 12 hours to charge back up.

Isn't that too long for charging...especially brand new batteries?

Anybody have an idea what gives?

Surely somebody here has an idea if that's taking too long to charge?

Above link shows your charger is charging at 1 Amp and even if your batteries are completly discharged, charging time should not be more than 2.5 hours.
You may need to measure charging current to confirm 1 Amp rate. If it is, then your charger is fine and problem is batteries.

It's obvious that there is something wrong with your batteries.Have you tested each one individually?A good place to start.

Sorry, but how do I test each battery?

I'm assuming with a Voltage Meter, but do I test when fully charged? And what am I looking for? Thanks for the help.

Try charging your old batteries with the new charger, and charge the new batteries with the old charger. See if there is a difference.

Good idea, but all the old batteries got tossed. I think I'm going to let the light start dimming, then take the batteries out of the holder and charge them 4 at a time in my trusty Wal Mart charger, that should tell me something.
