I understand that an LCD display will appear dim from certain angles or in low light, but mine's a little different.

The charger works perfectly in all bays, but the individual display of the two bays on the left end are notably dimmer than the other six displays.

I can see them ok, and those two bays seem to work just as well for charging batteries as all the other bays.
But I have to concentrate a bit more to see those two status displays on the left end than I do the other six.

Also, it's erratic to where those left two displays will appear fine for a charge cycle or two, and then the next time I use the charger, they'll be dim again.

Has anyone else seen this on their own 800, or 801, or 804 Maha chargers?

I agree with snakebite that it sounds like a dirty zebra-strip. If the charger's past its warranty period, and your willing to dismantle it down to its major components, you can probably remedy the problem by cleaning the strip and adjacent contacts, and then ensuring that it's correctly positioned before re-assembly.

I used isopropyl alcohol on a linen cloth to good effect. I like linen because it has a slightly stronger 'abrasive' effect and seems to leave less fibers behind than cotton.

because it will creep and foul the display.had a ht here that someone used deoxit on the lcd and zebra strip.it did all sorts of odd things till i washed everything in alcohol.
