I know this is kind of a random thought (comes with having been up since 12am with my little girl), but has Don ever had/used a maker's mark?

Here we have these amazing tools, and Don (must be a VERY humble dood) hasn't felt the desire to leave his signature anywhere on them? Oh man...maybe one of us can help him design one.

I'm out...no artistic skills...but I would love to see one.

Yes, do a search for McGizmo logo... there have been threads discussing this same thing. Don had a logo type thing on some early Aleph heads some time back.
And great thread title BTW... mmmmmm.... Maker's Mark.....
 john

Thanks for the response, John. I should have done a search. My bad.

Anyway, I was actually asking NOT because I wanted one on the light, but because I want one for a sig line. I have a feeling Chronos did as well. Any idea where I can get a digital copy/photo of the guy on the surfboard? The pic in the thread you posted seems long gone, and I threw away my LS20 box 10 minutes after my light arrived.

Addicted minds must think alike as I was just wondering the same thing on why no mark or serial number. I really like Don's reply from back in '07 that it just adds overhead time and money to have lights marked.

My stray thought is perhaps an offering of Don-Original Clips with some logo, splash, stamp or such. That way you can "accessorize" with a bit of bling if you are so inclined. The latest set of bead blast offerings look very cool.

My apology if this has already been brought up. I have just not spent enough time reading past posts.

GatMan,

Congrats again on your little one - your previous post on 5/7 ago showing the picture of your newborn + new McGizmo was heart felt.

A bit off topic, but something you get to look forward to is what my 5yr and 3yr old's do just before bedtime each night - Flashlight Stories. We turn off the lights with each of us having a light and read their bedtime story. That is followed up with hand shadows and various glow in the dark hide-n-seek. The wife just smiles and shakes her head at who the biggest kid in the room is. :grin2:

The surfboard dude wasn't the logo that was etched on the lights... I don't think that logo has made its way onto a light.

From Don's site, here's a few pics of his logo:

And what appears to be an early concept of the logo, as it's different than what's on the lights.

And just thinking more on this, these logos were actually Aleph logos, so technically not McGizmo logos.

If those who got one of the BB Haiku's were to look closely at the pocket clip, they might make out a free hand Mc down at the clip tip.

I think FrenchyLED has the one light I made that had what I might call a logo engraved on the clip.

Oh man...THAT looks GREAT! Not sure I'd want it on my Ti, but coated AL lights would look fantastic with that logo. Very cool.

Dyeman...thanks for the kind words. There is a LOT to look forward to. I can't wait til she's able to interact more with us.

Damn!

Why is it that when I saw the title of this thread I instantly thought of the Bourbon?

I think I need a drink :p

Patiently waiting by the mail box for it
 :candle: :sssh:   :tired:

(We might? Or we might not?)

BB Haiku arrival! Turns out we might see it - or might not - it all depends on the angle you look at!
