Does anyone have experience with this high CRI XPG3 in another device? The high CRI XPG3's have earned a reputation for a nasty beam tint at cooler temperatures. I'm very curious about this at 3000K.

This. I don't trust it at all. I know a Nichia will be fine and dandy.

My dear friend if you looking for High CRI LEDs to put on your dropins then I promise you you don't want to touch that xpg3!!!!

I think you're looking for the XPG or the xpg2 with High CRI +90 (3000k)

Reconsidering my choice based on last 3 comments. I was going off the many positive comments ref xp-g and xp-g2. Anyone know if it's possible to get the older models anymore? Or are they extinct?

Fwiw, we know what Genes XP-G2 looks like since it is what he currently puts in his lights. I am fine with getting something that you guys want, but I don't want 17 different emitters in 16 different drop-ins. I am tempted dto just go with the Malkoff supplied drop-ins and the N219C's that I posted above because they are known quantities. Nothing more, nothing less

I'm confused now. Which led is better? I particularly look for the beauty of the incandescent bulbs and all possible rendering of color. I can give up a little efficiency, without problems. the dropin with three modes gives me several possibilities in terms of power and runtime.

Just look up tint shift in xpg3. Several threads on it. You may come away with a great one you may not.

Will this tint shift you guys speak of really be noticeable at 3000k? All things being equal, I'd rather my LED look at close to incan as possible AND be as bright as possible. I've plenty of 219b lights that simply don't have enough lumens for my liking, regardless of the color output...

What about SM303-D200-L1-R9050? 219C with 92 CRI at 3000k. Avail here: https://www.virence.com/product-page/nichia-nvsl219ct-nvsw219ct

Alright ladies and gentlemen, I just ordered 20 219C 92CRI LEDs that Lion posted above. They say 6-26 days? Max order of 18 of the 3000K 219C 92 CRI dies, with 2 left over for fumbles and missed solder irons hitting the dome.

When I get these LEDs I will ship them to Gene and let him take it from there. XP-G2's are still an option however.

After looking at the Virence webpage, I'd like to change my choice to the 219c.

Supposing Gene uses the same driver as the current M361, do we have an ~ lumen output with said 219c?

I'm officially changing over to the virence 219c, too. Sorry for initiating this circuitous route back to Team Nichia. Guess that hicri xp-g/g2 has turned into my grail emitter...

This looks great. Thanks to all for researching this.

Very much this. I couldn't have done it without everyone's help. This initial run of 18 dropping will be completely filled. I may run a few extra of the 4000k LEDs I threw in my order to make it an even 20... I am not sure. Maybe 25. Who knows. I think it will depend on how much my end of month bills happen to be at the time. All of the extras will be put on the market place that don't go to group buy participants.
