That's a cool looking light with a more simple design than the MK35. Just a little smaller than the TN42, right?

According to their dimensions, the TN42 is a little longer, while the MK35v2 has a little larger head.

Did you just make my 2 version 1's obsolete?

Don't feel bad, I have two also. And if this v2 really does have a bigger head and shorter body than the tn42, then I might also make my tn42vn90 obsolete too! But of course that's only with a mk35v2 vn edition.

Oh wow, it is a larger head.

Size: 185mm (length) x 109mm (Head Diameter) x 53mm (Body Diameter)
- Weight: 737gram (without battery)

vs. the TN42
206mm (length) x 100mm x 52mm. Weight: 666g (including battery carrier)

That head size is larger than what I was hoping for but I'm eager to see what Vinh can make it do!

Thats a BIG head! No wonder the throw is great!

The more I think about it Vinh, the K65GT is the light that fits roughly in between the MK35 and the TN42.

The MK35II is more like a super TN42 that comes in a bit shorter.

If I had to guess, seems like you prefer the tn42vn 90 over this new mk35vn.
You don't mention anything about how good the light is or do I see a R. Does the cft90 throw further than the sbt90 or something? Or is the tn42vn reflector just made better. Cus the mk35vn has a bigger head so I would have assumed it match or have greater throw than the tn42vn 90.

It has an R on the skylumen site. CFT90/SBT90.2 are just so impressive that pretty much anything that has them get an R.

MK35vnV2 4800L, 1Mcd,

TN42vn VNX3 Lumen: 5500 1.2Mcd

Perhaps the Manker has a shallower reflector, or an inferior reflector surface, a slightly larger hotspot or a difference in the LED's or how hard they're being driven. It does seem like the TN42vn is either being driven harder or it's getting lumens OTF more efficiently. Comparison beamshots could reveal a lot.

The nice thing is that the MK35vnV2 is $255 stock while the TN42vn CFT-90 is $625.

- TN42vn90 has 4 large petals around the hot spot which I find satisfying as a modder because it shows that the beam is perfectly centered. MK35vn V2 lacks it which is a negative for me but a positive for most as the petals contribute nothing to the beam from an distance.

Mk35vn V2 head is a bit too large for my liking. I prefer the smaller V1 size.

I also prefer the V1 stainless bezel

Looks wise the V2 does look sleeker minus the excessive prints.

MK35vn V2 is short for what it is and that's a big plus to me.

Usbc charging carrier is a nice touch

I guess I cant find anything I dont like about the Mk35vn V2 other than I wish the head was smaller.

So I guess the big question is which light do I like overall more? They r too close to call. But if i had to pick one I guess it doesnt matter which. Closing my eyes and choose is fine.

This mean the MK35vn V2 is a win overall as its 1/2 the price of the TN42vn90.

You don't mention anything about how good the light is or do I see a R. Does have an R. Definitely an R for the money. Take this over K75vn due to size.

Does the cft90 throw further than the sbt90 or something? Both LED are quite similar. CFT90 just have superior heat sinking as its mounted in a unique way on thick copper.

Or is the tn42vn reflector just made better. Cus the mk35vn has a bigger head so I would have assumed it match or have greater throw than the tn42vn 90. I expected 1.2 Mcd too but that's not the case.

Thanks Vinh for the insight and quick comparison. I decide I will be just happy with my trusty tn42vn90. I was just hoping for an upgrade by now.

OH yeah if you got a TN42vn90 there is no point to upgrade. K30GTvn should be considered if you need a smaller size light.
