Markoff drop in 4D-6D questions

Hi,

Does anyone run the Markoff drop 4D-6D with 3x123A batteries in a 2D mag body? Will there be any problem to push the drop in to the max 3x3volts = 9 volts?

Also, if I run this drop in with 6xAA in the 2D mag, 7.2 volts, will the brightness be different from 7.2 volts vs 9volts by the nake eyes? Will it shorten the life of the drop in with the higher voltage...?

it shoud be fine with the cr123A. with that kind of draw, you will lose a volt or so, so it should be fine. (voltage sag) it should also be able to run the 7.2 volt job with no problem.

Yeah, but the runtime will truly suck :sick2:. For me, the great joy of Malkoff is that they will go for several hours before fading, since they work off of D's.

actually, that is my setup right there, and i run it in a 2c cell mag, a badass sleeper, and the runtime doesnt suck as bad as you might think i would guess its somewhere in the 2.5 to 3 hour range.
