Matching cells for battery pack

I have a question regarding matching cells for an 18 volt tool battery pack. I'm currently in the process of charging 15 Tenergy NICD Sub C 2300 mAH cells for the battery. I bought a bunch of cells about 18 months ago and these have been sitting around untouched since then. I'm charging them individually in my Triton at a .3A charge followed by a .5A discharge. I cycling them through twice. At the end of the second charge I'm getting anywhere from 1812 mAH to 1988 mAH from the cells.

My three questions are:
1. Are there any ill effects on the cells after sitting around for 18 months?
2. Is a low of 1812 and a high of 1988 mAH considered matched?
3. The cells are rated at 2300 mAH. Are my readings considered good? With a few more cycles what can I expect the cells to get to?

Thanks

Hello 250,

Ideally it is wonderful to have the cell capacity within 2 - 5%, however you can live with 10%.

I believe those cells come in at just under 2100 mAh when new. It looks like you are very close to 10% so those cells should work. Just take care to not over discharge them.
