Newly Enlightened
Hi everyone,
I bought a MaxaBeam MBS 450 few months ago with a NiCd battery.
Unfortunately, the cells were dead. So I wanted to remplace them and not buy a LiFePO4 battery with new supply charger, etc ... ($$$)
I found in France a cells pack ( 10 cells, size F, 12V for 7000mAh) for 120€ shipping included (about 160 bucks).
but the pack was a little too long than the battery case.
First step : Unseal the battery case (With a knife and a flat screwdriver)
Remove the cells :
Separate the electronic card and the cells (The Nickel bands were cutted off)
The new cells were packed with new nickel bands and I welded them with this:
Put the new pack in the case (Of course the battery was tested before
)
And the last step (I need to stick the top of the case)
And finally:
Now my Maxa is running perfectly with the new battery
I hope this thread could help some of you!
PS : Sorry for my bad English
PS bis : I have some pictures of the replacement if needed.
Have a nice day!
Louis
