Maxlite AA Custom flashlight. Amazing piece of engineering by Mac: triple Rebel 100s with a FluPIC driver in a Maxlite AA form factor and flawless natural anodizing. I'm selling this light with two AW protected 14500's. The driver is designed to run on a single 3.7v rechargeable, so it will not power up with an Eneloop or other NiMH (1.5v) AA. According to Mac, this is FluPIC Version 2.2, which allows the user to set output levels, including strobe. This is an outstanding light, but need the cash...

$350 and we split the PP fee's.

Hmmm... this one sounds familiar. This is a freakin' gorgeous light and Mac's mod-fu is second to none. Burk, good price, and luck with your sale. Just a suggestion, but pics will sell this light for sure.

Will hopefully have some pictures up within the hour

Re: Maxlite AA, Modded by Mac

You've got a multitude of various lighting levels including a strobe with the FluPIC V2.2 firmware. If I remember right, each Cree has about 180 lumens. this light does not have real great throw, not bad but not outstanding, but does provide a very nice "wall" of light. Also the beam is very warm compared to my other LED lights.

I'm at work and can't see any pictures on my work computer. I know what MJ's Maxlight looks like and have always liked the look of that light. I know Mac does fine stuff, but have never seen anything of his in person.

So, sight unseen .................... I'll take it. I may not be able to get back on the computer until I get home tonight, about 7:00pm EST.

You can shoot me a PM. I am able to make quick jumps onto cpf at work. I can try to move this forward today at work.

I'm no techno wizard on flashlights, but a flupic max drive is around 1.2A. Just seems like the emitter pack here could easily use more than this.

The Flupic has a "burst-mode" which will put it way up more IIRC.....

Re: Maxlite AA, Modded by Mac

Per Mac's original sales thread:

Low (Level 1) 15ma = 3000 minutes runtime
High (Level 5) 250ma = 180 minutes runtime
Burst 1.1 amp 40.9 minutes runtime

Is this per emitter, or aggregate to all 3 emitters?

I bet someone else with much more knowledge in the Flupic-department will answer these Q`s soon......

Re: Maxlite AA, Modded by Mac

It has to be 1.1A total from the battery. A 14500 Lithium cobalt cell would not support a 3.3A drain.

So, about 360ma per led on burst. Seems like that is not driving too hard on burst. So maybe 330 total lumens on burst.

Oh, I'm home now. Very cool light.
