MC-E Leds

Hey all

Quick question, is there a list of suppliers for MC-E Leds?? This is such a large forum its hard to track these things down!

Officially this is the Cree distributors list ...

Mine are on there way from Kaidomain.com because they and Dealextreme.com are probably the cheapest.
Digikey.com and Cutter.com are probably good for service, speed and quality.
There are also plenty of others like ledsupply.com, ledrise.com,

They all do slightly different configurations ... with or without stars and wired 4P, 4S or 2S2P

In the end i just plumped for cheapest with KD but I've been waiting so long I almost wish I'd paid more!!!

Not sure I'm clicking every option correctly, but $183 for shipping to US kind of kills this deal. Am I doing something wrong?

Anyone bought one from KD? They list a couple at ~$27 as M - WD bin. Any idea if that is accurate and can be trusted? If it is I'd gladly pay the extra over the cheaper (~$17) KD/DX ones that are listed as some kind of K bin. Any idea if the KD ones come on a normal star or the funny looking one in the pics that looks like it has places to solder resistors? It also looks smaller than 20mm so I think the pic of the star is wrong.

I've got two of these M-bin ones on order from KD.
They were supposedly shipped with HongKong post on 11th October but I've still not seen them yet - granted I knew that shipping and communication is not great but its still frustrating that an order placed later with DX arrived within a week or so.
Even when I receive them I'm not sure what quality they will be.

Suffice to say I've got LedRise bookmarked!!!

Well i am from Europe so my advice is only good there. Europe shipping is 4.90 euro because they ship orders from the same region (Europe).

It would be a good deal if they actually shipped the LEDs. I ordered mine on the 23rd of October and they still haven't even shipped. The last two weeks when I complained they said they would ship them at the beginning of the next week but that obviously hasn't happened! Maybe unbookmark Ledrise?!

Wahey - finally my Cree MC-E's have arrived from Kaidomain':wave:
I ordered them on the 2nd October ... so that's just over 7 weeks for delivery.

Given these are the first I've ever bought (or seen) the quality looks fairly reasonable.
Chin up "Maxn" ... I'm sure yours will arrive soon.

not really, its very difficult to locate LEDs where prices are inclusive of shipping, so unless otherwise specified when someone mentions the price of something, it does not take into the account of shipping.

In this case, its probably being sent priority from Germany to you, I'd expect savings if you have a friend to order that for you somewhere in europe, then have him mail you from there and recieve reinbursement from you in the process
