I purchased a McLux III PD from Don about three years ago. I believe it has a U bin (creamy white).

How can I upgrade this emitter to a newer more efficient one....or have it done?

Can I run the light on RCR123A as it is?

Thanks

Cagmag,

In your sig. line you list a PD with a uvij luxIII. If this is what you're wanting to convert, I'd think long and hard about it.

I have the same, as well as a TI PD-S from the Sept. wave.

While I really like the TI version, I find myself reaching for the AL PD more often because of the very pleasing warm tint of the uvij. The seoul U bin is much colder, although not nearly so much as a couple other lights I have.

If I could do it, I'd switch the guts around between the two. There is something about the surface texture of the TI vs. the anodized finish on the AL that makes the TI "grippyier" than the AL.

He could buy an USVOH Seoul and still get that warm nice tint. That's what I've done with all the lights I have put Seoul leds in.
