The Q3s are even whiter than the Q2s. Since luxeons are color-binned from 1-5, 3 is right smack in the middle and is really neither pea-green nor violet/blue.
The 'L' denotes the forward voltage needed to drive the luxeon at its recommended current, so yes - this means these luxeons will need more push. But they *will* be bright

The McLux was designed with a 1" bezel diameter, the same as the MiniMag2AA and the Surefire E-series. I'm sure you'll find that plenty of accessories for these popular lights will work with the McLux with little or no modifications, which - as in turns out - just happens to be one of the design briefs of the McLux!

There's 6 smilies up there - count 'em. That's one for each of us Skunks. Truly, the McLux is actually the "McDonWayneDarellRogerGrahamLeo", but we couldn't mention its name without running out of breath everytime we talked about it, so we cut it down to McLux. *LOL*
Stay tuned for the cut-down version simply dubbed "Mc".

UPDATE: Another McLux test...
hi guys,
Just came back from my "lab" with these preliminary test results. I took 2 McLux, 1 Black HA and 1 EN and chucked them into a 1100W microwave oven and cooked them for 15 seconds on the "high" setting (took out the batteries). And I'm pleased to report that THEY SURVIVED!
Next up, I will see if they can take 30seconds. What's the idea behind this testing?
Well, as we all know, the McLux uses some pretty advanced electronics from dat2zip, which some may feel is susceptible to EMI damage. The idea of using a microwave oven came from a test that Peter Gransee did on an Arc-AAA some time ago. (The microwave oven is the most easy to find source of very-high-power EM energy in the house.)The Arc-AAA survived beautifully as well, attesting, to some extent, to the effectiveness of using aluminum as a EMI barrier for flashlights. I salute PG for being the creative and brave soul to try it out first on an Arc-AAA!

Yes yer Honoh, You see, I got up ever nite at bout 2 AM, turned on my McLux and found my way to the kitchen and ate five to twelve pounds of snack items ever nite, and now yer Honoh, I am fat and my klesterol is higher than the Intahnational Space Stachion. I want to sue da pants off of dem damn McLux Bastahds. They made me the porker I am today.
And dont get me starded on the hot coffee I spilled in my krotch when I got up too early and used my Mclux to make myself a little coffee.

cme - do you have some sort of microwave fascination? You didn't want one until Leo baked it? I never would have though the microwave would have been such a strong selling point. But that's why Leo gets the big bucks for marketing.
