The land of the rising sun.
Here are the 1 x AA powered Mega Extreme lights. Made a very small batch and before putting them up for sale, thought I'd show them off. The LED used is a Nichia NCSW136TE rated at 225 lumens at a drive current of 500ma. The DC/DC converter in the ME II AA dives the LED at 700ma so you could imagine the brightness out the front. In the beam shot comparasion the flashlight on the left is a P1D with a Q5 Cree set in high mode. On the right we have the ME II AA. I may have to re-take the picture as the tint is off and difficult to tell the brightness difference. Any ways the ME II AA's beam is not yellow and it easily blows the P1D (running on a CR123 battery) out the water. The Mega Extreme II AA is powered by a single AA alkaline.

Cool new led

I finished building my MEII and it came out great. Pulls between 2 and 2.3A from the biFluPIC. Can't wait for the option to have an Ostar SMT.

I've only made 15pcs of these ME II AA lights due to only being able acquire 15pcs of the Nichia NCSW136TE LED. These LED's are currently un-obtainium. They are rated at around 140 to 150 lumens per watt. Extremely bright! Here are the specs:

T7075 aluminum
HA III olive drab
Chem kote interior
Gold plated contacts and converter module
Gold plated spring
Tailcap switch
Schottb270 mineral glass lens with AR coating on both sides
Aluminum smooth finish reflector
Anti-roll collar
Batteries: AA alkaline, NiMH, Energizer lithium AA only
Carrying case
Titanium scalloped bezel
Single stage operation
Price: $450.00 (same as the original ME II)

The price is a bit steep mainly due to having made only 15pcs plus a few spares + materials used. I have put these up for sale two months ago and only have a few left.
