I can't unscrew the top of this light that holds the reflector and lens. I have penetrating oil and it wont budge . The aluminum threads are bound tightly.Any one know the trick ?

Depending on how much heat, it might not be so good on the plastic lens, reflector and switch mechanism. Unless he somehow got loctite in the threads, my guess would be leaky batteries welding the head to the body. I had this happen to me, but was lucky enough for it to be on the other end. Long story short, I had to use vise grips and replace the cap with a NiteIze switch.

buy another mini mag for 10 bucks or less....

direct heat (eg. flame) may melt the plastic lens thats in it, try hot hot hot water.

Wrap 2 rubber bands around it, one on the bezel and the other on the head and then try to turn....

put it in ziplock bag and let it sit in HOT water for a few minutes

You cant unscrew head and body?
or the bezel to head?

if bezel/head, put a thick rubber band onto bezel (improves grip) and try again

(train hand/finger force for the future) ;)

Thanks for all the suggestions. I got the job done by wrapping porous surgical
tape around both sides of the slippery aluminum surfaces then with a small plastic strap wrench on one side and hand pressure on the other it came loose enough to screw apart.
