I had the "opportunity" to hang out with some of the rowdier side of my family last night, and without thinking twice I headed out the door with my Haiku clipped to my pocket. As it turns out, it was a good idea overall, but at one point about 6-7 drinks in, I whipped the thing out of my pocket to help someone look for something they'd dropped on the ground -- and tossed my poor Haiku about six feet in the air. Needless to say it landed squarely on the pavement and clattered off underneath the car. (I was not driving, for the record.) After I recovered it, I examined it with my fingertips, since it was, you know, dark outside and I couldn't see anything, and I was pleased to discover that the dings on it are well within my ability to smooth out with a rust-removing block. (think of a rubber eraser with carbide grit mixed in.)

AND THAT is why I don't think twice about spending the money on titanium. :)

oh man...i thought it was a new form of anodizing i could try with a bottle of rum...or possibly a titanium flask...lol good story though hopefully you didn't have the "wine flu" the next day

I am about to head out for the same type of thing...i guess i'll drag my Ti quark along lol (like there was a better choice!)

I was out walking the dogs tonight - after a GIANT Martguerita:drunk:. BB Haiku, in beavertail AOTH holester. As a backup I had a L1 that had been modded to take a AA - nice spot but no spill - in the basement it was fine, but in real life the Haiku really spanked :whoopin: it.

This is my second Haiku - the first one I hadn't really used and got what I thought was a good deal in trade (& cash). I'll be keeping it this time around.
