modding a Nerf gun light

So I have this silly idea of upgrading a Nerf gun that has an internal flashlight. It runs on 3x AAA alkalines. It has a small 5mm red led.

I was thinking of using the cheap tactical light from costco. It too runs on 3x AAA.

There are two major factors.

1: heat. The toy is plastic so I don't want something crazy that will melt or warp the plastic

2: phsyical space. I have a very tight space to work with.


Would it be possible to run the star, from the costco light directly wired to the battery box?

My other option is to use a mini mag led.

You could always screw one of the DX Picatinny rails on it - then it's weaponlight all the way! :devil:

I have done that already. Hehe. I'm trying to keep it stock looking and all internal.
