Modern Production Machining Equipment

Unless it has 12 axis motion, it would not work for making a flashlight. The first 6 degrees of freedom would be needed for the light, the other six for cooking dinner & cleaning it up. Seriously, why would anyone who needs that capability consider anything other than a Mazak or a Mori Seiki?

That's like saying why would anyone who wants a good light consider anything other than Surefire? There's far more in the machining world than just Mazak and Mori Seiki.

LOL

On top of that, my volume work runs on Mazak equipment. Understandable for the shop owner to do that, as (like Surefire) it's the best that money can buy. In addition to Mori.

How do you like your Integrex?

All my CNC work goes to a Mazak shop down the road. The guy is a whiz, having worked as a field service rep for Mazak for years before going it on his own. He does mostly defense, aerospace & medical work but manages to run my parts as needed. My parts run on either his Nexus QT300M or on his VQC 20/50. He installed an Omax waterjet few years ago, which dramatically reducing the price of the flat items he runs for me.

Price?

I know in USA financing is readily available, but here is not, mazak, mori seiki or okuma are the most expensive units in the market, and not everyone is capable of purchasing one from the beginning, maybe down the road when customer base is established or when you want to improve productivity or turn out rate.

I tend to get tunnel vision, as both Mazak & Mori have attractive financial incentives on their machines. It's a buyers market in the United States but not many people are buying.

When you have to lay out hundreds of thousands of dollars for equipment and your name is on the bottom line, the tunnel vision will go away very quickly. :D
