Really? Is there any indication of when this will be happening? I have found the current thread for the Triple-XPE R2 drop-ins but no info on the next drop-in that you are referring to.
Even the current Triple-XPE R2 drop-in is simply incredible.

MrGman was kind enough to test mine and even after 1 minute it held 500 plus real OTF lumens. I will admit that for more than 5 minutes on high mode is a no no due to how hot it feels around the 5 minute mark. I really hope the XP-G R5 version puts out at least 700 OTF;) Oh, and I choose the multi-cell version because to put 2.8A on a single IMR 18650 cell from previous tests they sag. I figured at 1.4A of current they will sag a lot less and wallah I got 560 turn-on lumens.

Thanks Add1cted, I've used 4sevens before so I'll be happy to use them again. Although with all the talk above about waiting for new models I now don't know what to do!
