All of you experienced modders there- Should I mount aspherical lenses on all the seven Q5's which are running at 1.4 amps what would be the expected beam pattern? Would it be an acceptable circular shape or a collection of discernable squares?

If you align them all properly you will get a single image beamed at distanced more than 1/2 meter. But if you use reflectors too you will get rings around the primary beam.
How about 3 aspherics so you get a nice srpead and a good spot?

If you use one lens per LED and make sure that each LED is turned slightly differently from each the others than you will approach a circular beam. Align each so they "point" in the same direction and you will get a singular square beam. Either way the beams will appear to be one as long as there is an optic per LED.

Try six in a circle, with the center one being reflectored to fill out the beam a bit. Would love to see how that beam looks. ;)

I disagree. It will be far too much spot vs a very small amount of flood.
I think you would need at least 3 flood or better yet 4. Or just make them all aspheric.

Whats the diameter of the reflectors?

Thanks for the replies and interest in this thread.

As you can see in the pic I tried 8 degree lenses at first but the outcome was not in my interest. These fraen reflectors are 19 mm diameter and purchased from ledtech. de. The beam is beautiful with a very even hot spot and side spill.
Much brighter than a standard P7 mag-mod.

Actually I am looking for a round and tight beam and personally feel that aspherical lens on all the reflectors would be best in that pursuit.
Will be ordering some aspherics and give it a try as soon as I get them.
