Here is my heavily modified Akoray K-102 intended for 10280 Li-ion cell. I replaced original SSC P9 emitter with SSC P4. Unfortunately, P9 was destroyed in my attempt to remove emitter from the heatsink. Driver board was also soak in some sort of silicone glue, and I damaged inductor on the circuit board when tried to remove that stuff. Thanks to CPF member Eprom who noticed that driver is similar to DX AA/14500 board (sku 4735), I sacrificed one of those boards and soldered new inductor to Akoray board. I don't know what value of the original inductor were, but Akoray board worked again.
So I was forced to make the brand new heat sink pill, battery tube and some plastic and brass parts.
Red silicone washer (from old DVD drive) prevent contact between battery and driver (+) button until battery tube is screwed all the way in.
This light is now only 59 mm long, compared to original 90 mm.
I also glued neodymium magnet on the back of the battery tube, so flashlight could be attached to any magnetic surface (car engine hood for example).
Current from battery is 0.4 A. Current at the emitter is 0.3 A (at some 3 V). After few minutes flashlight became warm, but not hot. Run time is about 25-30 min.
Beam is mostly flood, but P4 gives much more total lumens then P9.
