My eastward U2, no workie

Totally crushing the tops of my ultrafire 18650's.
Should i solder a magnet to the top,or will that help rupture the cell?

I have the DX version and it works perfect with the ultrafire 18650...unprotected. My battery is exactly 65 mm long, and when installed is even with the end of the battery tube. THe positive end has a small spring and will work without a magnet on the plus end.

I have an DX version and It doesn't work.the spring compression
has caved in the top of 3 batteries now.
