Well I have been laid off from work for the last 5 months. I got sick of doing projects around the house so I decided I got to do something fun - something to do with electronics and LED's. Here is what I came up with. My pictures do not do this thing any justice. It simply refuses to have a good picture taken of it. Part of the reason may be the LED's are powered by unfiltered half-wave rectified DC.

Beautiful project.

I would have posted it in homemade and modified section though, as that is really where that kind of work is intended. Maybe mod can move it for you.

I'd like to see or read some details of the build.

The result is amazing. How did you accomplish it?

The 3d effect is especially cool and I like the modern flat tech look combined with a traditional wooden frame.

Well done!

You are probably right but I felt that the homemade section mostly deals with flashlights. I reaaly could not decide where it belonged. If it needs to be moved so be it.

If there is enough interest I will provide all build details on this. It is fairly easy. I will also provide free of charge one of the materials needed to do this to anyone interested. You only need less than 1 square foot of it but I had to buy 60 square feet so I have tons left over.

As far as the frame I did not build it. I had my father do it. Thats his line of work. You could make this square, round or any shape you like.

I will say again - my pictures do this no justice. It is stunning in person. There is no haze or wavyness or distortion to it and it is crystal clear.

I could not possibly build one of these to sell but I think 99% of people on this forum are capable of making one themselves. If anyone really does want to buy one the price is $10,000 US Dollars:D
